How do I Subscribe to TexTalk?

Just SMS the keyword displayed in the promotional advertisement to 1970 0140. TexTalk then sends you a SMS asking your age and the age group of members you'd like to chat with, plus useful profile questions like your postcode. All these messages are free of charge.

What next?

We then send you a welcome message and ask you to reply free of charge with a 'Hello' SMS message that you would like us to send out to other TexTalk members in your chosen age group and with your interests.

TexTalk then selects the members who are most compatible with you, based on your answers to the profile questions, and sends them your 'Hello' text message. They can then respond directly to your 'Hello' message with personal text messages. If you like the messages you receive you can then chat by simply replying as you would to a regular text message. The messages go back and forth via the TexTalk system while preserving your anonymity.

How do I stay Anonymous?

At this stage contact information such as phone numbers and addresses are not allowed, nor will TexTalk disclose your mobile number to any other members, so you can remain completely anonymous.

Chat between TexTalk members is one-to-one and private.

What Age are TexTalk members?

TexTalk members must be at least 16 years old to join.

How can I Cancel TexTalk?

You can cancel your TexTalk membership anytime by texting STOP to 1970 0140. This removes all your membership details from the TexTalk system and you are no longer a member.

If you just want to stop receiving messages but remain a member of TexTalk you can text SUSPEND to 1970 0140. All your details and your contacts will remain on our system till you are ready to continue chatting. To start chatting again text MORE to 1970 0140.

What does it Cost?

TexTalk will send you a reverse billed message for $3.50 which will appear on your next mobile phone bill. Our introductory offer means you can send and receive 10 messages from other members. These messages can be a 'Hello' message sent by another member, or chat messages you receive in response to your 'Hello' message. After the introductory offer you can send and receive 5 messages for each $3.50 billed message.

After every 6 reverse billed $3.50 messages (i.e. you've spent $21), we'll send a free SMS telling how much you've spent and inviting you to text MORE if you wish to continue chatting through TexTalk.

The billing messages may also contain additional useful TexTalk information but no chat content.

Can I send a Picture?

You can to send an image of yourself using a MMS message. TexTalk will guide you.

Are there any restrictions on Chat Content?

TexTalk abides by a strict set of industry guidelines that don't allow the sending of bad language, racial slurs etc. We moderate the text chat and any messages that breach these guidelines will be returned to the sender with a request for rewriting and a warning regarding the consequences of further breaches. Repeat offenders will have their membership cancelled with their mobile number barred from any future TexTalk activity.

Where there is legitimate cause for complaint Textalk will pay a full refund to any dissatisfied customers unless they have used service excessively.
